China and Brazil Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Precision Oncology Cooperation
From May 10 to 14, 2025, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of the Federative Republic of Brazil paid a state visit to China. On May 12, an important cooperation focusing on precision oncology treatment and the upgrading of public health service systems took place in Beijing.
Representatives
of relevant enterprises signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with the
Brazilian side on the application of innovative technologies in the field of
radiation therapy. This milestone moment was witnessed by Brazilian President
Lula, Minister of Health Alexandre Padilha, and other government officials.
At the signing ceremony, a radiotherapy device from China became the center of attention. President Lula proactively held a photo of the device and showcased it to the attendees. Reportedly, this is the "Medical Linear Accelerator" developed and manufactured by Shandong Shinva Medical Instrument Co., Ltd., a star product in China's radiation therapy field, known for its advanced technology in precision oncology treatment. President Lula also posted a group photo of the event on his overseas social media account with 13 million followers. By the time of the news report, the post had received over 26,000 likes, demonstrating the high level of attention the cooperation has garnered.
Amid the continuous increase in global cancer cases, cancer prevention and treatment have become a severe challenge faced by the international community. In this context, the cooperation between Chinese enterprises and Brazil is of great significance. The two sides will engage in in-depth collaboration around the innovation of radiation therapy technology and the upgrading of public health service systems.
